Installation Guide This chapter guides you through the steps to downloading, installing and starting the SPARKLĀ® Sequencing Engine. Tip: You can use a public instance of the Developer Console. System requirements of the SPARKL Sequencing Engine System requirements for installing SPARKL. Getting SPARKL If using Ubuntu, you can download and install SPARKL by running a series of commands. If using MacOS, get in touch. Configuring SPARKL SPARKL nodes can be configured by customising the auto-configuration or by manually editing the sys.config file. You can name and cluster the nodes, or secure your connection for the cloud. Creating nodes To run SPARKL, you need to create a SPARKL node by creating or allocating a directory on your local file system and starting SPARKL from there, using a terminal. Starting and stopping nodes The SPARKL nodes you have created can be stopped and started from terminal. To be able to log into the SPARKLĀ® Developer Console, the nodes should be running.
